What's that sound?
I recently got my 69 F85 running. I hear a noise coming from the engine compartment, maybe the passenger side, hard to tell exactly. I didn't notice the noise until I got the Edlebrock 600 to idle a bit better. Is anyone familiar with the noise in this video? It's more noticeable once I walked to the front if the car. Exhaust leak? Thoughts?

if your referring to the ticking noise, it sounds like a bad lifter. The "whirring" noise is just the belts and possibly the tranny pump.
needs more investigation to determine if its exhaust or lifter.

It's the "whirring noise", that i have not heard before, but I think your on track about the ticking sound. Its the original 350 to the car and it has sat for the last 3 years. Just had it shipped from California a few weeks ago. Let me tell you there were some "Godzilla" sized spiders hidden all over, and they are still popping out of places. I'll check the belts, but I thought it may be tranny related. The noise pretty much stops when the car is in reverse or drive.

Possibly alternator bearing...
Purchase one of these, if you don't already have one... I have been able to pin point many different noises use this tool...

I pulled the passenger side valve cover and the ticking sound seems to be coming from below the last two rockers toward the fire wall.
I wiggled on one rocker and got just a hair of play. I pulled on the rocker forward of the other and it would not wiggle at all. I inspected the push rods and they appeared straight. I changed the rockers arm with some extras. Thinking of pulling the intake and checking lifters. I'm hoping I can keep it for awhile without rebuilding it. I'm not ready to do that just yet. Got to sale parts and build up a F85 engine fund.

If it sat for a long time it might be a sticky lifter or not pumping up possibly. Run some marvel mystery oil through it. Throw in a quart and let it run for a while if you can drive it even better. And if you need new lifters i have a set of howards lifters new in the box i can let go cheap or trade.
