i have been taking my 81 cutlass with 403 out for some test drives after putting it back together. I was very dissapointed it the performance, come to find out my hillbilly rigged stock throttle cable linkage slipped and i was only gettin 2/3 throttle. The motor has a edelbrock performer rpm intake and carb. Can everyone send pics and opinions on aftermarket throttle cable mounts.

 

I used a Jegs throttle bracket and a Lokar throttle cable. I had the same problem you did, my throttle wouldn't open past 3/4. Got the Lokar and adjusted it properly, it was so much better.
