Chad, car is coming along nicely! Keep posting please. I am coming your way (or near you) as I am going to Lansing Homecoming on June 20, 2015, then down to Jackson, MI to see Bob Reeve for a day or two.. ........I am bringing the F-85 W31 car........Would like to swing over your way to visit and see the car.

I saw this car in person and Chad is really good at what he does. Very professionally built and I was highly impressed with the quality of workmanship! Most of all he is keeping it Olds powered.

Thanks Dave. I look forward to your visit. Maybe I'll even meet you up at the homecoming as I've been wanting to make it to that event for awhile now.

After about 12 hours (two guys) of hand sanding the blasted areas we got the body and all panels shot with epoxy.

Painted the frame with Summit's Chassis Shield epoxy yesterday after work. It's supposed to be satin but it came out with a bit more sheen than I had hoped for.

if you want it a little less glossy turn the pressure up on your gun a bit and spray it really light almost like a mild mist and it should tone the gloss down.

WoW Chad body and chassis looks good! Nice work. Hope to see you in Lansing for Homecoming. If you want, you can stay in my motorhome over night if you want.

Will also be planning on coming down by your house to visit and see the race car sometime in August/September.

I may take you up on that offer Dave. I told the wife you were planning to visit this summer. She said "great, I like that guy".

Nice work, very clean. I always find it interesting how a ladder bar car puts all the forward acceleration of the car through a single crossmember in bending. How heavy duty is that tube?

The crossmember is 1-5/8 x .083 chromoly tubing. Very tuff stuff.

I bought a Glasstek raised W-25 style hood for it. I battled in my mind between that and a cowl induction hood. To be honest I really don't like either of them as I would really prefer the stock flat hood but with the intake I'm running I need more clearance. I chose the raised W-25 style hood mainly because it says "Oldsmobile" where as the cowl hood says "Chevelle".

As for the color I am still not 100% certain. Silver with a black top & stripes has always been a favorite of mine but I am also considering Trophy Blue with either black or white hood stripes and no vinyl top.

Chad cars going to look killer even if the raised W25 hood might not be your first choice. How much clearance do you require?

I'm not sure just yet. It will depend what spacer height works best on the dyno. I just know it won't fit under a stock flat hood.

I purchased the cowl from a guy on here that goes by the screen name AZChevys. He often has rust free AZ metal for sale on this site. I believe it came off of a Monte or Chevelle but the part that I needed was the same as an Olds from the splice forward.

I saw your car at Diamond Race Cars getting the rollcage fabricated. Dan does excellent work. You gotta make sure to make a fuss over Clutch while you're there at his shop....

Any chance a H/O hood scoop would work?
