The guy told me that it broke when he was trying to put it in gear and when he went to fix it appeared that it broke in the past and someone tried to fix it by trying to weld it. But he said that wasn't going to do any good because it was "pop metal" and would have broken eventually. So, he decided to put a bracket on both sides to fix it but I wanted a new one in case this issue happens again. But jensenracing77 I'm not sure what a "T-handle" style is. But yes the car is an automatic.

When it is correct it has a little T under the ball. I may have one but not sure. I will look when I get home.

Those are fairly common and not to uncommon to break, 71-72 are the same 69-70 have the same body but a different pressed in pin to accomadate the NSS if Eric doesn't have one check w oldspackrat he has lots of parts.

I agree you should replace that piece now, then if the next one breaks you replace it short term w the repaired one.

I thought I had an extra but I don't. I have a complete shifter but not the lever by itself. If one of the other guys have one go ahead with them.
