Wanted: HEI Distributor
Wanted: HEI Distributor
I need an HEI distributor that is not computer controlled. It doesnt have to be pretty, it just needs to work. It is going into a 77ish 350, if that matters.
Thanks, Dan
Thanks, Dan
you can get them at any parts store. just ask for one to fit a 77 cutlass. i have one that i would sell for $20 plus shipping but it will need a new module. i have never used it. it was in a box of stuff that came with a 76 ninety eight i had.
Does yours have a cap and coil on it?

I have tried looking at salvage yards, but know luck. The only cars I can find are computer controlled 307s. Even if they do get a non computer controlled car in there, people usually grab the engine really fast.
HEI dist
i have several with cap & coil. $30 plus shipping from south carolina. greg. (864)616-4619 gtfolds@worldnet.att.net
I always shop at O'Reillys. However, if it costs over $100 at Auto Zone it is probably about the same price as O'Reillys. Oh well... looks like you get to continue to search the salvage yard. BTW, why don't you just keep the points distributor until you can afford a hi-performance distributor?
I dont have a distibutor to use, or I would. There is not a lot of yards around me with old cars, so I usually have to get parts from people like you guys. I ended up finding someone who is somewhat local to me with one, so I got it off of him.
Thanks for the help.
Thanks for the help.
why not just convert your old points dist to electronic? Pertronix makes a fine kit.Last one I got was 58.00 on e bay.I use it to fire my msd but I used it for 2 years with the old coil and a mallory. Also the old dist has no space issues with different intakes.Just an idea.
