One of my favorite Oldsmobile's - the '66 442 with the tri-power package. Good luck with the swap meet, a sure sign of Spring.

Larry, there's an Olds guy down here I recently met who's working on a 1968. He plans to go to the swap meet Thursday through Saturday. Can you tell me which space numbers you and Steve will have? Or if you'll be in the Expo or at the Race Track? If you know I'll pass it on to him so he can easily find you guys.

I was planning to go but it came up so fast! I can't get away. I'll be extra choked if you had any 64-65 stuff...

I'll be at PIR all day Thursday and then over to the Expo on Friday and half of Saturday. Larry, I'll look for you and Steve and introduce myself as I have never met you. I always enjoy seeing the faces of the people whose names and cars come up on this site!
Best Regards,

Do you have or know anyone that has a 64/65 auto floor shifter? I really need one for my console to be installed. I could probably even drive my 64 fown to the swap, it'd be it's longest drive do that'd be fun. I'm Jeff by the way I'm from Olympia and new to the site. Here's me and my car I'm in the process if restoring. Thanks any help is appreciated!

Hi Jeff,
Those license plates...when my parents moved to Washington, my dad when to DOL to get new plates at the end of April 1971...those are the plates they gave him and they've been on the car since then!

We took the tripower car out for a spin yesterday. Couldn't go far brakes are poor and no tags. But, how in the heck did anyone drive these with the horrible tires they had back then? I mean it has Goodyear Eagle Gt 60 series tires and there is no getting traction if you step into it. This car has so much power it is nuts. But, oh so fun!

Just got back from the two big swap meets...lots of fun but I wasn't able to find anything I wanted this time around...but I did get to meet Larry and Steve and see Larry's '66 tri-power...what a machine!...my favorite year by far...I'd like to have one of those but my stable is full!

Hit PIR all day THU - no rain! Did all the outside spaces on FRI at the EXPO - no rain again - we were real lucky...but the rain started Friday night and it rained off and on during the day on Saturday so I spent all day inside.

This is always a great swap meet...there are really two big swap meets and they can't be beat!

Sounds like the Portland swap meet is at the end of this month. I'll be in Portland - curious if it's a good use of time for OLDS stuff.

Thanks

If your there anyway it's fun to wander through as it is the biggest swap meet in the PNW. The last time I went the Olds stuff was pretty scarce and high priced when I found it. I did locate some GM A-body stuff that interchanged I snagged at a good price. If you have the time you might surf the Portland Craigslist as I've seen some good deals listed in the Portland area. If your driving through I'm in Medford just over the Oregon/California border and have a good collection of spare parts. Your welcome to message me if there's anything specific your looking for and I could see if I have it. John

I've only been once and enjoyed the experience...I was actually hoping to make it down again this year but my schedule precludes that activity :-(

What I did find was there were only a couple vendors with a focus on Olds stuff, and of course it will depend on what sort of things you're hoping to find. Most of my "treasures" were found on random tables mixed in with other brands and you needed to take a good look through the items to find them. Obviously nobody can predict who is going to be there selling parts (apart from the "regulars") or what kind of parts they'll have but you probably already know the slim pickings at most swap meets anyhow.

I keep my expectations low when going to local swap meets but I did stumble onto a set of ceramic coated headers for my 455 build last year. Can't find 'em if you ain't lookin'!
