I know a guy that would have bought them but he just found a set here in Indiana for not much less. These are hard to find in nice restored condition. If there are any dings they drop in price real fast.

I guess things are a little bit cheaper here in Texas. I took all the chrome off my 72 to a shop here in Houston and it cost me a little more that 600 for all of it, They did a flawless job. There were all kinds of dings in most of the pieces but you can't tell now. The 68 convertible I just recently purchased I plan on taking all the chrome to that same shop. I do realize anything is worth what someone is willing to pay. I really do hope the gentleman sells his set.

I am not saying he will get it but just that the biggest part of the price is just finding a set that is usable or restorable. Most of these are missing or destroyed beyond being fixed. I have seen unrestored sets around $600-$800 that were nice used parts ready to use. If you figure having them restored and the shipping cost to send them in and get them back you would be close to his price. I have never had a set, The only reason I know anything about them is because a buddy was looking for a set for his 68.

I've sold a few sets. I've got shipping almost anywhere in the county to below $50 by putting them in 1 1/2" PVC with a 45° bend for the last 8" or so. I have a really rough set right now that I'm into for nothing (thanks Dean) but they probably need $600 worth of work to make them a driver. I'm going to pick away at them (literally). I also have to find someone to weld them.

Yep- they're mine.
I've had a few bites yet no sale as of yet.
I'm getting a little more hungry for $$ now that my '68 442 is home from the paint shop. There's a constant sucking sound in the garage- its the sound of a butt load of money flowing out for parts, parts and more parts.
I'm going to look at both of my sets - I may end up selling the lesser pair and keeping the perfect pair. Both are restored and polished.
If someone is interested please let me know….if they don't sell by end of this month I may look into barter or price reduction.
Thanks

Ebay sucks. Two flake buyers.
I'm open to offers on these moldings.
Professionally straightened/polished. Very nice.

Good luck with the sale - I have a 68 442 convertible in highschool (1981 to 1983). I remember that my passenger side got stolen and it took me almost a year to find a good used one, and that was 30 years ago, when the car was 15 years old. I can't imagine how rare they are today.

It all started in High School with me as well (1985). I worked nights at the gas station and saw an old lady pull in with a '68 cutlass convertible…it was mine a few months later. Same lady had a son working on a '67 442 Convertible…son knocked up a cheerleader a year later and had to sell to me for dirt cheap extra fast. That was the beginning of a long line of '67 and '68 oldsmobiles.
