The block has 425 internals with 12 to 1 pistons. I took the pistons and Rods out but will include them in the sale. I am looking to get 4000$ for the whole deal or best. This motor has a race history. please call me for details, Nick 720-275-3124

Interesting note
On the aft face of the block, LH side, we see what appears to be a reversed lower case hand-scratched "h" as if scratched into the mold sand.
The D heads indicate possibly a Hurst engine.
I have NEVER noticed such an "h" on any other similar block.
Hmmmmmm....
Nice FORGED crank there too eh?
A lot of motor for 4 large.

Chris,
I have seen similar scratchings like that. Not sure if I have an "h",but a bunch of other goofy things.
That's a nice 4-spd pilot bearing adapter.
That rotating assembly could be transfered to another block,or it could be re-bored,depending on what bore size it is now.

Still for sale. Turns out this motor and a few similar were built for Oldsmobile by Modello and dispersed to participating Olds sponsored racers. The heads on this motor are stamped 585, and according to Lynn at Mondello, the 500 sereis motors went to baja or pikes peak racers. Lynn said these motors were all in excess of 500 hp. I spoke to Bernard about this motor also and he said the 425 internals were prefered by the Mondello crew and that he remembered these motors as well. That explains th w30 intake with out the w455. This is a rare chance to own a peice of Oldsmobile racing history.
