Looks like your average air filter. Other than the box says A90C what makes it special? Not bashing just asking.

It's a non wetted (oil) air filter so the air flows faster to the cylinders. Kinda neat trick, don't know how much faster the car was with the filter.

Are not most air filters dry. I have a K&N in my vette, oil it regularly.
I am just curious what makes this $15.00 air filter worth so much. Special number codes or something?

it would be worth it to a numbers guy with a 67 W. if you find me a dry air filter for my 62 Jetfire in any brand.... i may not go $250 but would be willing to go MUCH higher than $15.

Definitely good to have (or must have) for a numbers matching "W" car.....
However, the A90CW (or equivalent) can be used in its place.........

I am just a curious sort of guy. So is it the number A-90C on the filter or on the box. If I find one I will know what I have and definetaly sell to one of our guy's ,CHEAP!
I saw some embossed oil filters for $350.00 or so. Kind of pricey for something that's only designed to last 5,000 miles. For a numbers matching "W" that might be 20 years.

Once again, a guy puts up something for sale and its not dirt cheap so that means everybody has to comment on the price and ask why its so special. If you can afford a W30 you can afford this air cleaner.

I even hate saying this but go look around at Chevy NOS odd pieces like this. I also have a NOS R-69 battery for the 67 442 so that broadens the scope of fit.
Would anyone like to take a guess what those go for?

I for one didn't read anyone bashing his price just questioning why? I think a fair question and its worth the education. I take exception with your last comment. I have had my W30 for a long time. Many of us have owned our cars for a long time and didn't pay a premium for it. Just because we have a car worth a lot doesn't mean we can afford to buy it all over again.

I get some of the parts for my car are rare, thus expensive, but I don't like the misconception that just because someone has a W30 means they are filthy rich. Some of us may be, some of us may not be.

I also am not implying that Hairy Olds is asking too much for the air filter, its surely a limited edition part with few left in NOS condition. One day I'd like to find an NOS OAI Foam that is priced reasonably - but in the meantime I just keep looking.

agreed he said he wasnt bashing just curious I admit I am too. I like to learn about stuff, generally speaking we're all better off when people share their knowledge If you have something special great get what its worth but whats the harm in asking why its special ???

I recall recently the member selling some valve covers..for whatever reason he didnt fell obligated to tell anyone why they were special....if somoneone knew why they were special maybe they would buy them...sure I can hear you rolling your eyes but witness a couple threads recently where someone w no Olds knowledge is looking to drop big bucks on cars they know nothing about and the threads were how can I tell if this a real (insert special model here) and the OP admitted to no olds knowledge
