71-74? delta 88, 98 toronado B-body dash lights for sale

Two people on the board were looking for these but I lost your email addresses.

I have a pair of the dash lights that go above the instrument cluster that always get broken.

$33 for a pair shipped. I have 3 sets of 2 for sale separately.
Thanks
Tim

71-73. They work on 88, 98 and Toronado, to expand your market a little.

Wow! Glad I threw a dozen of these into my toolbox the last time I was at the boneyard!

Is that really what they go for?

If you threw them into your tool box, then they are probably all junk!!

The small tabs get broken off and then they won't stay in place.

So you think $15 each is too much? lol . . . I haven't seen any of these in a couple of years and got lucky and found two cars with some good ones this summer.

Of course prices are always negotiable. . .

I have no idea what they're worth - that's why I'm surprised.
I just threw them in, along with some ***** and screws and flashers and similar stuff - actually, I didn't even try to hide them, I just dropped them in the rest of the pile of parts in the bed of my truck and the guy didn't even price them - he just priced the bigger stuff, like he usually does.

And, no, none of mine has any broken tabs, scratches, or bad corrosion.

Next time I'm there, I'll have to grab any more that I find. Who knew?

Well, you asked!

I have a '73 Custom Cruiser, and I could use some of these, but I'm not paying $15 apiece for them. What I have now is held in place with a couple of small pieces of scotch tape, and you really can't see the tape nor the repair at all as you're sitting in the driver's seat because these face downward.

I'd give you $5 apiece for them (plus a couple of bucks to ship them), but that's as high as I'd go. If I never find any for that price, that's fine. What I've done works.

I contend that you still don't know what they're worth. All you know is what a fellow who is selling some is asking for them. Where did his asking price come from other than off the top of his head?

Yeah, but my own offers for parts, based as they are on the lint-to-change ratio in my pockets at any given moment, tend to be similarly divorced from market dynamics .

If you are a guy who hits wrecking yards and find some, cool!!

I drive 80 miles round trip in a 13 mi/gal truck to hit the yard that occasionally has older cars that are there for about 4 weeks before they are crushed.

This yard charges for everything you have in your wheel barrell. They even dig through your tool bag pulling out bolts, etc. and charge for them. (some are not quite such a$$es about it but some are!)

I had two members on this board offer me $25 for a pair but I had sold them to another member with the gauges and radio I had out of a 73 delta 88.

So calculate my cost . . . time . . . and my work removing the parts. Yes, some parts come off easily . . . but some don't. I don't EVER do smash and grabs like some people do . . . I take apart the car to get the parts I want without damaging the other parts. Some idiots destroy good parts for a $2 part.

So, what are they worth??? To me . . . $15 each. If no one wants them for that, tape works . . . There are always plenty of guys willing to pay nothing for something they want.

Sorry but $5 bucks won't buy any from me. Glad the tape works for you.
$10 would be closer . . . that would at least cover part of the $20 it cost me just to DRIVE there.

By the way . . . I am not offended by anything you guys have said. Everyone has opinions.

Perhaps I just value my time a little more

This argument would hold water if you drove the 80 miles round trip JUST to buy these lights. But did you really do that? Or did you go there for some OTHER reason and then happened to pick these up while you were there? If so, then you would have been at the yard, anyway, and your only cost for these lights is what you actually paid the yard for them plus whatever you want to add for the few minutes of your time it took to remove them.

Of course you are free to charge whatever you want for them, and $15 each isn't really that bad a price. But their intrinsic value doesn't change just because you or any person selling them spends any particular amount to acquire them.

After all, if you had driven, say, 160 miles round trip for the sole purpose of getting them and thus doubled your driving cost, would that suddenly make these worth $30 each instead of $15? The answer is no. By the same token, if the yard was across the street from where you lived and thus your to/from cost was negligible, would you charge $2 apiece for them? I'm guessing not.

By the way, if you really are willing to sell these for $10 each, I'll pay that.

PM me with your mailing address and I'll send you a check. How many do you have? I'll buy up to four. I can pay by Paypal, too, if you would rather do it that way.

I just wanted to report back that I received the dash lights from Ratchetmaster (Tim) promptly and well packed. If it were possible to leave ebay-like feedback, I would say buy from him with confidence!

I got a nice, used '71-'75 B-body rear sway bar from him, too, with all the hardware, and it didn't even bust out of the box in transit.

A+, Excellent OldsBayer.

You said you had a lot to do but I'm still waiting for an answer if you want to sell them to me and if so, when.
Hope Now for a positive reply from you.

Hey Tim.

Thank you so much for your reply. It was great that you found them again. If I understand this correctly, you will have 15 dollars each. That is $ 30. It is expensive to send them yes but it's possible I have a solution to this. I have an address in JetCarrier 80122 Linden, NJ 07036 but then I'm going to have to get your name, how much I should pay for the parts and what I'm buying. When I get this from you, I can tell them this. Then you just send it to this address when we agree how to pay you.
Can you please give me a feedback on this Tim.
This is a company that forwards items and are serious.
