i have a 1976 olds 98 4dr i bought for some parts i needed (455) and im gonna part the rest .
every thing is avalible .....

the interior in this car is spotless. perfect black leather seats, crack free black dash board (with woodgrain inserts),perfect headliner,carpet ,and 3 perfect door panels the driver side has a tiny 1/2 inch crack in the arm rest .
so if any one needs anything let me know .

What is wrong with the rest of the car? Sounds like a resto candidate - just add motor!

 

does it have factory blue floor mats? if so and if in good shape i have a buyer for them.

I'm guessing old posts are a common scenario on here. I would love to know what happened to this car. I am looking for a mint black steering wheel for a 76 Ninety Eight. From the description, this car may have been my source. If anybody knows of one around, let me know....or any other 75-76 98 parts floating around. Thanks!

 

You can have steering wheels repaired professonially. There are members on our website that have had their steering wheel repaired with great success. Use the search function and I'm sure you will find some great info.

 

Hi Olds 64. I'll look into the wheel restoration but from what I've seen at Carlisle shows, the restoration really just means they do body work on the wheel and put a decal on for the woodgrain. It's definitely an option but I'd really love to find an original wheel.

I really appreciate it but I'm really looking for a correct wheel for a 98 with the "wood" inlay. I think those wheels are beautiful when they're in nice shape but sadly they're usually pretty beat up. I have a couple in pretty nice shape but nothing perfect. Amazingly, I've had parts cars with absolutely mint wheels...one blue, one mahogany, one red,,.all flawless and all benefited friends of mine, but still not a black one. My burgundy 98 has a tilt/telescope wheel but it was brown. I painted it and put a really nice, tight wrap on it and it's fine for that car. I also used a horn pad from a '72 98 just because I like the looks better than the '76 pad. I think it's just more of a classic look.

I got very lucky with both the Toronado and the Delta 88, both wheels perfect.

The wagon was a different story - had cracks, wood insert was missing, so I wound up buying a bunch of $10 wheels (I wanted 3 spoke eventually) ending up with a nice Grand Prix wheel, right color, comfort grip and my painter at work fixed the worn off wood grain - turned out great.





The black one is very nice if you decide to go ghetto like me

 

Jeff, how did your friend fix the woodgrain on the steering wheel in the second picture? It looks great!

BTW John, I would like to see a picture of the brown steering wheel you "wrapped." The steering wheel in my 71 98 is deteriorated and I will have to do something with it eventually. Any pointers or advice would be appreciated.

 

Jesse, thanks, he did a great job, no clue how - he was a furniture refinisher in a past life. He is interested in side work, dash panels, etc. I had business cards made for him. Jesse check out wheelskins, $35 or so and looks really nice (thin not bulky like the ghetto ones )

Hey, I just noticed that you asked to see my wheel. It was a brown wheel and column. I painted it all black and then wrapped the wheel. I also spray dyed the horn pad (from a '72) black. I love how it came out. This is in my burgundy '76 98 coupe. Send me a picture of your '71 wheel. Maybe I can give you some ideas after seeing it.
