3 Rear Ends for Sale - 10 bolt 3.73, Type O 12 Bolt x 2
As the title states, I have a three posi rear ends for sale; two 12 Bolt “O” Type and one ’71-’72 10 Bolt.
The first one is an 8.5 10 bolt, 3.73 posi rear out of a '71 W-30. This is an original "TO" code rear. ALL the numbers check out. Numbers stamped on tube are TO OO81. Left center near the plug weld is stamped C 19 and the ring and pinion are dated 8 70 / 7 70 accordingly. This is the real deal and not some re stamp. The housing is very nice, smooth tubes. Had a coat of paint probably some 10-15 years back, then stored in a corner of a shop. Re-painted or powder coated, this would be a beautiful housing. I have not gone through this rear mechanically, but everything appears to be fine. $1200 plus shipping.
The second rear is a '68 12 Bolt Olds Type-O 31 spline, 3.91 posi rear, code TO. Code is hard to see (but is visible) due to moderate pitting over entire rear end surface. Additionally, control arm bolt holes were repaired. Mechanically, this rear is in excellent condition with a rebuilt 672 posi with new carrier bearings, axle seals, and pinion seal. Pinion bearings were replaced by previous owner and are in great shape. Painted up, will look decent but far from a show quality type housing. $1200 plus shipping.
Third rear is another 3.91, either ’68 or ’69. 28 spline axles. Code is T3, so should’ve come out of a disc brake car. Housing is another very nice housing that someone threw a coat of paint on years ago. 4-5 teeth on the ring gear have minor pitting where ring gear was exposed to water. This should not cause a problem. I have not touched this rear end mechanically yet. Personally, I would recommend a clutch pack and a bearing kit. $900 plus shipping.
I can rebuild any or all of these (31 spline rear does not need it) for a fee if someone is interested. I can provide pics by e-mail to those interested. I will consider reasonable offers. Shipping will be to the nearest freight terminal or to a business, anywhere in the lower 48. I can ship to a residence, but freight companies always tack on an additional surcharge between $55 and $75 depending on the company. I do get decent rates on shipping.
