If parted out i would be intrested in just the complete long block with the intake if its a 4bbl. I like trades so if you need something got plenty of stuff around here i dont need. I got cams , drag radials on centerlines , traction bars etc etc.

thanks copper. I really at this point need a good quadrajet to replace mine. I'm told a gently used or rebuildable Edelbrock should suffice.

I would shy away from Edelbrock. I've spent a lot of time tuning and fiddling with them, and they are very temperamental. Depending on your motor and what you're looking for, Q-jet is a wayyy better carb.

Believe me, if I could find a q-jet in good condition for a decent price, I would rather get that. I've had a few people recommend the Edelbrock though. Thanks for the tip.

thanks DDD. I got a rebuild kit from them and bought the book by Cliff. They really are very helpful, but my understanding was they will rebuild what you have, or what I have, not that they sell rebuilds off the shelf. My carb isn't really worth saving as far as I can tell.

It did indeed take him a long time to rebuild mine....

put up a "parts wanted" post (you probably already have one) and be patient - it took me a couple of months....somebody has one. i also did a "saved search" on ebay with the part number (7042250?) they come up now an again for decent prices (and sometime for ridiculous)

ddd777: thanks for the help. That particular one doesn't look too good to my untrained eye. I will probably go with the custom rebuilt place if the price and quality seems reasonable.
