I have a friend who rebuilt an old MGM conv., rust bucket.. anyway he repaired/replaced the sheet metal he could, knocked as much rust off of frame etc... and used the 'rust bullet' on frame and body, making sure he particularly got it into 'HIGH RUST Prone' areas like inside frame and interior side of body work,etc... ... he was quite sure of the product before hand, and was sure that THAT was what he was going to use on the car.... as far as I know it works as intended and he is happy with the results of the finished product.... and hasn't had any issues with paint.
He has done a # of restores and built a # choppers - so he seems to have enough experience to know what he is doing.
... My understanding, and maybe you already know, is that the product encapsulates and converts the rust to prevent further rust issues and prevents future rust from starting.... and According to my friend it is way better than similar products. Cost a little more but worth it I gather..

I've never used the Rust Bullet but I have used POR 15. It is GREAT!
