So, is it home now? Congratulations again. I see a busy winter in your future, spent out in the garage.

Not home yet, I have a bill of sale and a title. I still have to go and get it. PM me your address and phone number and I will stop by on my way home with it. I am making the travel arrangements soon to beat the snow you guys like so much.

That is so cool! I guess I should have jumped on it like a hobo on a bologna sandwich since it wasn't too far from me.

Congratulation on the 48.

Look like it will be alot of fun. What re be the plan; Stock or modified a bit? Was it a streight 6 or 8, and is it Hydra-matic? Anyway will be fun. Thank you for sharing. 47 Coupe.

47,
I thought about your car too. We actually have three siblings on this site. It would be real cool if all three could "meet" after citcapp gets his going.

46, 47, 48. Sounds good. The 48 is set up for a 455 so thats what I'll put in. Looking for a Toro engine now. Will keep it simple Mild build stock bore or no more the 30 over with a mild cam. Alumimum intake with 4 barrel. I am thinking about a 5 speed stick along the liines of Jamesbo's build. I like the idea of a stick in the 48. The ideas are just floating around. See you soon.

I am finally at home with my 1948 two door Olds fastback after 5 week on the road. I got side tracked by a electrical sub-station melt down at one of my clients plants in Galt, CA. Had to turn whenches for a couple of weeks to fix it. Got them up and running so I came home yesterday. Took two days to get to Bothell, WA. The snow and ice on the roads made it a bitch to drive the rental truck and trailer. Now I can start building the 48 once I make room in the garage and its warms up a bit. Will keep posting updates as I start the build. Starting with the 455 Toro engine first.

Great to be home

Didn't you pull a J-2 engine out of your 57? Now that would make a really cool street rod in this car. Granted it is not as easy to maintain as the 455 and not as fast but just imagine opening the hood at a car show. WOW. Of course it is your car and everybody should respect what you do with it. I just think that would be so cool. Keep us updated as I know this is going to be a really neat car.
