Man, that is a bummer! I hope they find the car and those thieves. I will definitely keep an eye out for it since I am not far from Oklahoma City.

This should be a reminder to all of us that own one of these classics just how easy it is to hot wire on old car. We should all have a kill switch installed between the battery and the ignition so it can't be hotwired. Tough Luck Robert. I hope you get your car back. BTW-How quick did Grundy cut you a check? Was it for the agreed value of the car? Were you happy with the amount? Good Luck again. You know that Tulsa/OK City area is really bad news when it comes to stolen cars.

stolen 1969 442

hi fellow oldsmen,
thanks for the kind words from all on the theft of my 442. for everyones info my agreed value with grundys was $20,000. i have had it insured with grundys for 3 years with a 99 & 94 vette verts. have to check records for costs but very resonable so much so that i have added 4 more 442's and i pay less than $1000 a year. they are the car people they say they are. grundys made is possible for me to collect cars and i am very greatful. as far as stated value no problem and the $20,000 check came with in 4.5 weeks and allowed me to purchase an original numbers matching 1971 442 vert for replacement, stated value $26,000. i have a little car collection but its my car collection, my memories of the hunt, the goosebumps, the deal, the friends you meet along the way... robert

Hopefully they don't jack up your premiums since you made a claim. Let us know what happens if you don't mind me asking. Sounds like this Grundys is a pretty good insurance firm. It is a bummer that you have to use it this way thoug.

Sorry to hear that man. I know that grundy and hagarty are both good insurance companies. That is nice thing about the antique insuance companies, they all have customer service like everyone should.

Robet, I feel for anyone for the loss of a valued car. I lost a '77 Cutlass S a month after I bought it a while back. Glad to hear you were able to replace it. Keep in touch!
