66 starfire suspension question

66 starfire suspension question
I am looking for 2" front dropped spindles and improved coil springs for the front and 2" dropped rear springs.
Do you know other B-bodies that offer 2" dropped spindles that would fit my 1966 starfire? I am trying to set up a protouring stance and ride within budget.
Rob
PS. I was told that a 66" impala could work but I am still not 100 %convinced.

"A" bodies shared a lot of suspension parts between makes . " B" bodies did not , at least not until 1971.

I'd be surprised if anyone makes dropped spindles for these cars. The 1965-1970 Olds and Buick B/C body cars use different spindles and suspension from the same vintage Chevy and Pontiac B-body cars and the spindles will NOT work. The Impalas used the smaller wheel bearings from the A-body cars, along with the 5 x 4.75" wheel bolt pattern. The Olds full size cars used larger wheel bearings (which is why the Chevy spindles don't work) and the 5 x 5" bolt pattern. Yes, the 65-66 Jetstar 88 is the exception, as it does use the same spindles and bolt pattern as the Chevy.

Thanks for responding Joe, this has been an uphill battle in getting just the right stance that I am looking for. No wonder why none of the hotrod shops call me back. But, in this case I am just not ready to give in and will have to explore this some more. Thanks again and any advice in finding these spindles or having some made would be great.

Do you happen to know if the suspension connections to the frame are the same on all B Bodies? Would the upper and lower control arms from a Chevy fit in the Starfire frame connection points?
They had the same steering, right? Something has to be common here!

Go back and read Post #4. NOTHING interchanges. Frames are different, suspension is different, attach points are different, steering linkage is different. Ball joints are different, spindles are different. Chevy uses strut rods on the front like a Mustang. Olds does not. Chevy uses a three link rear suspension with a panhard rod. Olds used a traditional four link.
