Steak and Shake 98

My wife and I were out yesterday and decided to go eat at stake and shake. anyway, we sat down and they had those paper place mats infront of me and I got to looking at them and I was like holy crap that looks like my car. It was a white and read 50's auto. To me it looked like an olds. I looked at it and showed my wife and she was like that does look like my car. She blirts out to an old guy across the way what kind of car is that. He says its a chevy. I looked at my wife and looked back at the car and told her no its not a chevy cause would have different lights in the back. Those look like our lights. I got to looking close and thougt o.k. thats a bigger car than our 88 cause the trunk is bigger. By this time I'm convince its a 55 olds 98 then as we left I grabbed an extra place mat so we could come home and check for sure and sure enough Steak and Shake has an 1955 olds 98 on their place mats and other parafanalia.

Pretty cool

I had no idea Steak and Shake was all over the country. The first time I ate in one was 1965 in Daytona Beach Florida [spring break]

IMHO the best Fast Food around next to Chic-fil-a

From what you guys are saying, I need to try S&S again. We have had one for a couple years in Rockwall which is nearby. My wife and I tried it about a year ago and it was bad. It was so bad I went to the website and told them what I thought. They sent a response via regular mail and a $10 gift card. The service and the burgers were terrible but the shakes were outstanding. I had always heard good things and was really disappointed. Based on you guys endorsement, I will try it again and look for the placemats while I am there.

Merry Christmas everybody.

I'll take that $10 gift certificate.

Steak 'n Shake, to me, is the All-American restaurant. STEAKburgers NOT HAMburgers, long sliced good pickles, HANDSHAKES with huge chilled cookies in them, REAL CHERRYcokes, shoestring fries that require ketchup to make them taste good, chili, cool colors and HATS, smart clever ORIGINAL commercials, Olds 98's in advertisements NEED I SAY MORE!
