Awsome car! I just bought a 71 98 LS. They are great cars.

Sorry for the delay in getting info posted, but it was late last night and I’ve been in meetings all morning. Here is the history:
She was ordered by my Grandfather to tow his ‘67 Airstream 24’ Trade Wind, which he did, including trips to Canada and various places out here in the west. About two years after he got the 98, a friend talked him into getting a Toronado. He lived in Sedona, AZ and we lived in Flagstaff. ~29 miles but 2000’ higher with serious snow in the winter. The idea of FWD sold him on the Toro, and my Dad purchased the 98 from him.
During my first trip in the 98 when new, I told my Grandfather that I wanted the car when he was done with it. I was three at the time, and fascinated with the rear vanity center, and the cruise control! I loved to watch the accelerator pedal move on its’ own. Well, I’m 42 now and I still have this damn car!
She spent from ~’79-‘01 in our family business warehouse in Flagstaff. In ‘01 my wife and I needed a car larger than her BMW 318ti since we were starting a family, so we had her painted and put back in daily service here in Phx, AZ. That idea lasted about a year, and then she was put back in storage in Flagstaff.
In the mean time, we built a new home in NE Scottsdale, and with that came a ~2,600 sq/ft double RV garage with a bay in the back where I put in a two post auto lift. Not long after, we lost the storage space in Flag for the 98, so back she came! At least now I have the room to work on her. Although she doesn’t need much. The A/C compressor clutch bearing went out on me last summer, (I have the new bearing, just haven’t installed yet) and the cruise control quit. Oh and the upholstery is fine, though on the driver’s side, there is one area that is getting thin. I put the cover on to try and prolong the inevitable. I did purchase enough of the OEM fabric from SMS Auto Fabrics to redo the whole interior if needed however.
As I mentioned in another thread, I work for Discount Tire Co. (corporate, IT stuff) so I’m going to start researching what wheels will fit and look decent. I’m always paranoid about losing one of those hubcaps (which has happened twice, one time it took out a skirt) and causing body damage. Plus, the right rims may give her a cool look.
Thanks for the complements!
