Another '69

Hey guys, Newbie here. I have had my 1969 Olds Cutlass S since 1999. It is a 2 door hardtop with a Olds 350 and 2 barrel and a turbo 350, it has bucket seats, floor shift, console, and factory a/c (doesn't work, pieces missing) It has been kind of a "Driving restoration" which to me means, fix stuff along the way and keep it on the road. Here a short list of stuff I've done to it over 10 years, Bored out the 350 .30 over, rebuilt transmission, new shocks and springs in the rear end, new tires on the original SSII wheels and that's about it. I need to take some digital pictures of it and upload them.

Talking Welcome to CO

Yes there are a lot of 69's here as my buddy Jamsbo notes (I call it bragging) But us big old car guys outweigh all those little wimpy newer cars, we just push them out of our way. Shhhhhhh. I also like 69's but don't tell Jamsbo.

Your car looks pretty original , except maybe the rear deck speakers. Do you know if it was repainted cause it looks like the correct paint.

Thanks guys for the compliments on my car. As you question it has been repainted at least twice from what I can tell. There is a small area on the passenger front fender that has been rubbed down to bare metal, at least that's what a body man told me when I had it looked at for a repaint. The interior on the other hand is original except for aftermarket gauges under the dash, tach, volts, water temp, oil pressure, and the aforementioned rear deck speakers plus a radio with cd player. The longer I have this car the more I think I stole it I bought it in the condition you see except for the radio, new suspension in the rear, new tires on the original rims, new battery, alternator, and rebuilding the engine and transmission, I paid $2,900 for this car 10 years ago. Like I said I think I stole it, but oh well there loss is my gain. You asked for pictures I'm guessing you mean the Impala? It isn't technically mine yet, but all money that has gone into putting it back on the road has been mine. My dad just doesn't want to work on cars anymore. The Impala has sat most of it's life heck the inspection sticker ran out in April 1978. So it needs some things from sitting, but cosmetically and mostly mechanically it is mint. And from what I've been told somewhat rare being Royal Plum.

Yep

I think you got a great deal on the car but like you said it's their loss are you thinking of the aftermarket hood to go with the rear spoiler since it's not original anyway. As far as the Impala goes I really liked the powerglide since it was pretty much indestructable , and believe me I did try My 66 impala SS was a dark sea green with the black vinyl top. 2 door with bucket seats and consel with original T shifter. man I gotta stop thinking about selling it

What are you talking about here? I think you have my car confused with someone else's. My car or my good friends car neither one has an aftermarket hood or spoiler. I'll see about pictures of the Impala.

Color

Hey guys,
Yes I realize I am reviving an old thread, but it already has pictures in it.
Does any one know by looking at the pictures of my car what color it is? I am thinking palimino gold. I know I can decode the plate on the firewall I was just curious if anyone could tell by looking. Thanks.
