72 olds 98 75th Anniversary
I had this car for about 5yrs I bought it from a elderly woman whos husband died and she said it was too big for her to drive they bought the car brand new and was delivered from Shamrock Oldsmobile INC to Naples,Florida and they came and lived in Tennessee.I paid $2000 for the car and sold my 76 2 dr olds 98 to get this one.It has 140,431 miles on it now and I have the original receipt of purchase. It has the original paint on it but needs to be redone, has some rust on trunk and in side the trunk the interior needs to be redone but still is a good car,I still have points in this car but going to change once I start to restore it but it drives well still has good power 455 V8 4bbl with turbo hydra matic transmission with power seats and windows and door locks with rear defogger and come with A/C, cruise control.

Is this a Regency? The first Ninety Eight Regency in 1972 was the 75th Anniversary commemorative car. All were Tiffany Gold with either black or gold velour seating and vinyl roof cover, and a Tiffany & Co clock in the dash and rear seat vanity bar. Most had special red starburst design keys and were pretty well loaded option-wise, though I've seen them with windup windows and an AM radio.
In 1974 Regency became the top dog Ninety Eight, supplanting the Luxury Sedan which moved to entry-level Ninety Eight.

Welcome
Sounds like a nice car and loaded too. Will be great to see pics of it.When you click "post reply" scroll down below the box and you will see additional options. click on "manage attachments" and then click on "browse" You can search your computer for pics. When you find one then open it but make sure that you also click on the "upload".At the bottom of the window where you post a response there is a "preview post" option you can use to make sure pics came up ok.

Very nice looking car. I can imagine what minor body work and a good paint job would do to dress it up. If it's got some trunk rust, also check the rear wheel well areas, the skirts and wheel wells were notorious for rustout. BTW, What's that round thing on the right pod just above the radio? Never seen one of them in a 98. Got my curiosity going....

Check the parts for sale section of this site. Should be able to find something there. If not Ebay is usually a good part source. Too bad the big cars don't have the aftermarket supply that the A Bodies do.

That is one helluva cruiser there. I keep encouraging Jesse (olds64) to get his done so I can ride in it. We just dropped a rebuilt 455 in it last month and he is getting the finishing touches done to it.
