new member!!!

hello folks, glad to be here! i am a long time olds enthusiast since i was a little kid and all my dad bought was olds. back in my younger days i had a 94 cutlass cruiser wagon. loved that car. today i have a 2003 ford taurus, shes awaiting the payoff and a 3.4 SHO V8 transplant. great car but as for now just my daily driver. my near future project is that i am hoping to find a 77-84 delta 88 2dr for a sleeper project. no 24" chrome wheels here, folks, just a straight stock body with a monster under the hood! i am hoping to learn as much as i can before starting on this project. im figuring on probably using the 350 as a base engine, or possibly the olds 307, but all i know is i dont want to do an engine transplant, id like to stick with whats already in the car. in the close future i will be picking up a car, im already been searching for one, but as i am just starting my 2nd job tomorrow, i wont have the cash built up for a little while. so i figured it would be in my best interest to learn what i need to know BEFORE even starting the project. if theres anything else you folks would like to know about me feel free to ask! looking forward to meeting everyone!

Back it a year to '76 and you might score an original 455 in a Delta.

Just a tip.
77-85 Delta drivetrains are junk.
It'll be a sleeper alright....asleep at the light.

You're looking at a motor and transmission, transplant for sure.

I have 2 85 deltas. 1 with a 455 and one with a 350.
If you just need a street pounder, go with a big block. 425 or 455.
Torque talks at the stoplight races for sure.

instead of starting a new thread, i figured id just dig up my old one! im back, folks. sorry about my leaving, but i got a little overwhelmed at work and gave up forums for a while. quit my PT job, so lost that income for getting my project car, but im back now, and still in the market for that perfect car. though im currently leaning more towards an a-body, (used to have one, miss it dearly,) wanting to do a 3800 swap. but either way, im back and gonna try adn stay active this time! oh, and 100 posts

Wasn't the 403/TH 400 available in 77-79?
