I have a question about the W25 hood scoops. Is the inside of the scoop supposed to be body color or painted black? Asking because someone asked me this and I wasn't sure. I always thought it was black.

They should be black. I will be blacking mine out soon. I just saw a Thorton w-25 hood in person on a friends 70 442 this past Sunday and the fit and finish were near perfect. The person that did the paint on the hood said it took vey little prep and the inside of the scoops was black. Steve

2. What shade of black? (satin, flat, gloss?)
3. Is the black just for inside the tunnel, or does it extend to the taper along the side of the tunnel?

The hood I looked at Sunday was not quite flat and would consider it satin. He said they sprayed the black as far in as they could get it. Steve

What about at the front of the tunnel? Does the black stop where the top of the tunnel starts, or does it go along the vertical ridge that forms the front structure of the tunnel?

When you look in the scoops it is sprayed black (as far as you can get in there) and the underside of the tunnel/hood is black. Steve

Thought I would update my build. Car is running well and a blast at shows. It seems a lot of people rode in these car when they were kids and have been told many stories about this. Still have not charged the air and the temp gauge is not accurate but working on that. Here is a pic of it coming into a restoration shops open house where a friend works. Steve

Did you ever get the water spots off the glass? If not you can try diluted muratic acid, just a little on a cloth and wipe it, then wipe again with vinegar.

I did get the spots of with 3M rubbing compound by hand. It seemed to get rid of the spots. Steve
