Well the Por is done and dry
IMG_0046.jpg
I had to trim the gutter area a little to get the final alignment
IMG_0048.jpg
I then put the pad in for a final fitment ..it worked out good

Picked up a bigger compressor yesterday
DevilBiss 6.5hp 60Gal more like 3 hp .... I love the hp hype they all make
found it in a local classified ad hardly used
since I `m attempting the paint on the car I needed something other than my portable at home
240 volt single phase, 15 Amp
Air delivery:
13.0 cfm @ 40 psi
10.5 cfm @ 90 psi
I`m hoping this will run a HVLP gun fairly well
also for some of you paint guru`s what is a decent gun to use?

Rear panel is in.....panel adhesive on the sail panels went fairly well ....Glad i did it that way instead trying to spot weld them in in such a cramped area...
I also reversed my spot welds I went from the under side of the panel instead of the top like I have seen others do
it might not be correct but alot easier to grind them down from the underside
IMG_0725.jpg
Also using my flat sheetmetal vise grips made a very tight gap along the sail area I used 5 per side almost a continueous clamp all the way along

Now that the bodywork is moving along- what are the plans for your build? Back to stockish? Pro-Touring? Street Strip w/ lots of HP?
#62
the plan is a 455 with a turbo 400
the 455 is 30 over with a forged crank at 20/20 stock Rods with a set of 30 over pistons...cam bearings are in and have all the crank bearings gaskets and so on for it...and that is as far as I have gotten with it...... I am no motor guy....If I had the dough I would send it off to Bill at BTR
So..... I will have to find someone around my area
the dream is between 450 to 500 on the ground.....on pump gas
even 400 to the ground would be nice but like I said I will have to get someone to do that for me
I can do all the suspension and stuff. for sure going front disc... and no I am not paying some crazy cash for Bear brakes or anything...would like rear as well but we will see
I`ll be putting new front and rear sway bars in... I have open end rears I want a posi but havent even gotten as far as finding out my gears yet..3.55 would be good I`m thinking...
good for quick trips to stoplights and gas stations... not really going to be a highway cruizer

I believe a couple of guys on here used this or a similar tool with good success.

I've read that if you take a couple bags of dry ice and set them on the floor of the car and let it sit for a while the undercoating will basically flake off...
might be worth trying.
Some guys on the TC site also had luck with some sort of stripper paper- they stuck the paper all over the undercoating- left it for a day, then the stuff scrapes off really easy. might do a search over there...

I think you might be refering to Peel Away 7 ?? ... I read about it on another site and sounds like it works pretty good. Here's a little tutorial of sorts on that stuff.

Ben it actually came off not to bad.... the undercoating is very brittle and thin in most spots.... Wheelwells are going to be a chore though
I`m going to Por 15 the bottom of it then spray a coat of semi gloss on the undercarriage and cowl

taking a break for a few days not in the mood to deal with it
found a few more fix spots that pee``d me off
3/4 of an inch of undercoating on the wells......and still rust to deal with.. are you serious.............Torch and a lot of swearing all day today then decided it was time to have a few brews.......anyone want a project???? just need to buy a finished car...........I know it would be bloody cheaper!!!!!!!
