trying to catch up on some photos
original two piece idler arm. you can see the pieces originally are different colors/shades
20160814_131151_zpsrrdydf8w.jpg
original saginaw tie rods
20160823_184039_zpsheta14ek.jpg
one of the original front springs to the car. I have the other also. stamped is 5450
20160814_135448_zpsyty9w0gm.jpg
thanks to 442Fred recommendation, I have a correct rear axle vent
20161023_144638_zpsrjivygjk.jpg
20161023_144655_zpsy2dwgskp.jpg
99% of the hardware used on the chassis is replated originals. I raided my stash of the many cars I've parted and parts I've accumulated in order to be about as correct and original as possible with the nuts and bolts and hardware on the chassis. Talk about a mind numbing experience.

They are nice bushings, but you can buy the bushings individually from them for cheaper than the kit. And most importantly you'll get exactly what you need the first time.

I ran into the same thing on my car, it only has 6 bolts holding the body on the frame so most of the kits don't have enough of the non-bolt mounts. Thanks for the info and good luck with the car!

I'm soooooo far behind on pics
quick summary - body and paint done. WOW it's nice
interior order placed and will ship next monday at latest (Legendary to answer next question)
almost all stainless straightened and polished
engine build in progess
parts hunt continues as I'm looking for nice original interior pieces (preference being blue, but it will all be dyed anyway) and NOS items
and on my unplanned project, my Pontiac was painted a couple weeks ago

Hey Chris - Steve here - (gold '69 F85 W31) - great work. I am happy for you but jealous at the same time. Someday I hope to take mine down all the way and rebuild it. After 28 years of owning mine - its due.
keep up the great work and keep the progress reports coming.
FYI tomorrow is a cool day in history.
My car was purchased new on April 1 1969.

Steve, good to hear from you. A while back I was contacted by someone who said they bought that car from you.

another overdue update. With the photobucket change, I'll need to see how to post my pictures. Or even update the prior pics in this thread if the links become broken
the good - The car is now home!!!!! Let the assembly fun begin
the bad - The resto shop isn't sure on their MCACN plans, so there is no need for me to rush to have it ready for MCACN. The 69 GTO RAIII convert automatic which is loaded and the other car they wanted in their display, isn't even painted yet. It's come A LONG way though as that car was ROUGH. It's one of like 82 though.

locating some pics to post. I'll start with the fenders. As previously stated earlier in this thread, the original fenders were poorly repaired. I said f it, put them in the attic and located another pair. Here are the repairs to those. As luck would have it, it'll work out as I can use the original fenders to replicate the W-31 grease pencil marks on the inside of these.
then blasted and primed

it may not look like it, but she's been painted. this is powder blue, matched from the underside of the original trunk lid (which was replaced because of rust)
the first pic is one of my favorites.
You can see the original hood off to the right. It was dented, rusted and cracked on the underside in a few spots so it was replaced. It was also used as a template for the stripes since like several things on the car, it wasn't done exactly how the PIM shows.
