Restoring a Rearview Mirror with the light assembly
Does anybody know a company that I can ship my rearview mirror off to restore it? The map light still works but the reflective portion of the mirror has aged a lot and the backing has a rough finish, black in color. I have a 1972 Cutlass 2 door hardtop.
Thank you in advance for any information, Pat

there is a place here in Chicago (a suburb) that will resurface your mirror. You need to disassemble the mirror by soaking it in hot water and working the rubber gasket off of the glass. It is not hard but very time consuming. I'll try to find the name of the place. I had the mirror refinished and have yet to put it back together - one day.

Joyce Borrell Mirror Restoring (855) 792-6095 wanted $105 plus shipping to totally restore the mirror.. The back of the mirror has a black finish, not chrome.. I'm going to check with a couple of other places too.
