Kick Panel Insulation ???

I never thought this would be so difficult but how in the world is this insulation supposed to be installed? I'm wondering if I have the wrong ones?? This is for my '72 Supreme with A/C.

Insulation kit I've seen that looks like it would fit:

Insulation I have:

Did you purchase them from the parts place? I got mine from there and they look like the bottom ones. I havnt installed mine yet. I think the top ones are for non A/C cars, and you have to trim the bottom ones to fit. They have purferations in them I think. As you have them layed out is how they are, left side on left, right on right. I think

Yes, I think it was the parts place. I tried cutting one of the pieces along the perforations and it leaves a half oval opening. That doesn't seem to fit anywhere either. I did see one catalog that listed the top ones as being for the 64-'67 cars but they look like they'd fit my '72 better than the ones I have. I don't think they're real careful on making sure the picture is accurate.

On my A/C car, there is a big vacuum acuator on the RH side and just an oval shaped thing (vent??) on the left. I thought the oval cutout would line up with it but it's not even close. I'm just not seeing how these things would work. I'll try again this evening.

You need the bottom set for A/C. Do not cut anything except where the holes go for the screws. Trust me, they fit! They are shaped goofy for sure.
It is confusing, too - took me a while to figure it out also.

Here is one picture...
Imagine lifting the shown panel, not re-orientating it, and setting it it down on the insulator.

In this picture, notice the insulator is visible at the top of the panel in that notch...

Sure hope this helps!

I will see if I have any pictures...

At least I know I have the right ones. I put them in tonight the best I could. They are behind the kick panels so I think they'll do their job even if they aren't located perfectly.

Thanks for the help!

That's how I ended up installing them. There was one corner that seemed to match up so I went with it. Thanks for the pictures!
