71 Cutlass center console door hinge

Awhile back I leaned to hard on the center console door and broke the hinge away from where it attaches to the inner box liner. I bought what I thought was a new inner liner but it turns out it was only the two-piece floor. Does anyone know if I have to seek out an entire new center console---if so, what's the best way to pick one up? The OPG/Year One-type outfits don't have them. By the way, I've tried every glue/cement imaginable to try and fix it myself.
Thanks

did you try epoxy resin with fiberglass mat on the back (bottom) side to repair it? I would think that would work.

edit; never mind, I see that you broke the HINGE. Sorry.

Center Console

Bummer! yes this is a common place for them to break. I've got a couple in the garage with the hinge mounting points broken. If you could find one for parts it would be cheaper than buying a whole assembly just because this broke! I think ebay would be your best bet as I've seen a couple on there every week, but one for parts may not come along as often. John

Center console hinge mount

Actually broke the hinge MOUNT---maybe the epoxy resin with fiberglass will work to cement the mount points back to the inner liner of the box.

Thanks

Bear, yeah you have a chance then. Completely disassemble that sucker and be very generous with the epoxy. It can be filed and sanded later if you got too much. Good luck.
