Help identifying missing part
Hi All,
I seem to be missing a small piece on the door jam of my '71 Cutlass.
As shown in the pictures below, the passenger door has a small silver metal piece held on with two screws. However the drivers door is missing this piece but has the screw holes for it to mount.
What is this little doohickey called? and anyone know where I can find one along with the correct mounting screws?
Many thanks in advance!

Is your car a convertible? I believe this piece was only put on convertibles. I'd encourage you to create a parts wanted thread including these photos. Sorry, I'm drawing a blank on the name of the part.

Yeah, it's also called a wedge plate. Look at the mating area on the door and you'll see a metal plate there also that fits into the plate on the jamb. they allow the door to act as a load-carrying part of the body to help stiffen the car and minimize cowl shake on convertibles.
