a/c cutout sw

good day,
just bought a 83 olds hurst and not really familiar with it. would like to know what years this a/c cutout switch came installed. i read somewhere that it was istalled from 83-88 but not really sure. was it an option?

If you're talking about the WOT cutout, two different techniques were used on the 307. In the early 80s, both the VIN 9 and VIN Y cars used the switch (mounted on the accelerator pedal under the dash, like the older TH400 kickdown switch). Around 1984 or 85 the VIN Y cars used the computer to control the compressor at WOT, but the VIN 9 cars still used the switch. About 1987 or so even the VIN 9 cars got the computer control.
