Tune up for a 1956...

Sorry guys if I make a lot of questions, but I'm new and I need to learn.

I would like to make a tune (spark plugs, wire, oil and filters) up at mine 1965 Super88, which spark plugs are better for it?
And which kind of oil???
I should search it in a normal auto parts, or better search it online?

Thanks!!!

I would get rid of the points and put in a Pertronix or Mallory type points conversion unit. They are simple to install and you never have to worry about points and their inherent problems again. There are several type out there. I think the Pertronix is a magnetic trigger and the Mallory has an optical trigger. I do the conversion with every car that I plan on keeping. My Mallory Unilite conversion has been going for 15 years steady, put one in the Vista too. Shop around for prices if you do go that route.

Just a note on oil filters. I think NAPA has one called NAPA Gold which is top of the line. Years ago at an part store I saw a display with a Fram filter and a Wix filter cut open. The Wix had about twice the filter service of the Fram. I had used Fram for years and have never used another one. Wix is a really good filter. That was probably 15 years ago and I know there are a lot of other good filters available. Bluevista gave some good advice on the Pertronix ignition. It will be money well spent.

NAPA filters are made by wix. they are good filters. The gold line is NAPAs premium filter, so you are good to go. I use them on my truck
