Black Friday: Who is working today?

Our work site is down about 60%. The nice thing though is it is slow as molasses on a cold November new england morning, and the operation manager brought in the makings of breakfast. Hash browns, link sausage, pancakes and, real Vermont maple syrup! Yum, yum, as if we all needed that the day after Thanksgiving. I drove the '77 Cutlass in, it was kind of neat, the drive home today will be great, nice sunshiny and dry.

I am at work. UNFORTUNATELY! I think I will take some time this afternoon to call AutoLoc about some seatbelts I want to buy for the 71 98.

Sorry to say I don't work anymore. I am on disability for migraines. What I wouldn't give to be able to work again and have my job back.

I am still on the road, now in Eureka, CA. heading for Medford Oregon to look at a a970 Toro engine if all works out I will bring it home with me and start the engine rebuild when I get home in December. Dan did you get your starter fixed? Was your wife able to come home for Thankgiving? Drop me a PM and let me know how you are doing

I don't work anymore either but it is because I am too old - 70. Lots of times I feel like I would like to do something useful, maybe volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. I do have a lot of work in my own garage, sorting and inventoring parts, etc but I have to be in the mood. I want to start a new project soon - putting A/C in my convert. I am looking for the underdash boxes, etc in case anyone knows of availability. I have all the brackets and pulleys to change the alternator mounting and mount the compressor.

Yes I did. It was a bad starter, I replaced it and all is fine now.

Yes she did come home for the day and my daughter and her fiancee came too. We had a nice day.

I'm self employed so I asked myself for rest of the day off and finally got it after a lot of arguing. I told myself it's okay to take a day off work but always hear my old man's words in my head "You eat everyday don't you?!".

I'll probably just try to figure out if I have the right regulators for the powerful windows for the Vista and goof around with the dogs, they love playing in the snow.

The real boss is at work so I should do a few honey-do list items so I don't feel like a heel when she gets home and asks me what I've been doing all day.

I ordered my seat belts from AutoLoc at lunch time. Only $150 for two tan 2 point retractable seat belts. I also got two mounting kits (figured I could use the added safety in the 71), and a membership that will give me a receipt for 1/2 off of their single or dual exhaust flame thrower kits (I intend to install them this summer).

Overall, not too bad considering I would have to pay $94 + tax and shipping to buy ONE 2 ponit retractable harness from Kanter. Plus, the only color they had that I would have bought was black.

Gotta respect the work someone has to put into farming.
