What's wrong with the piece you have? Can it be polished and insets repainted?

Reason I ask is these are pretty hard to come by. The models they went on most of the time were the f85 and plain Cutlass.

Every so often you see one on evilbay. If you want to replace it you have a number of options:
1. You can buy a set of OLDSMOBILE letters aftermarket and install them. Problem is you have to drill a bunch of holes in your deck lid.
2. You can buy a Rocket emblem that was produced to go around the rear trunk lock. You only have to drill 2 holes and its a factory correct option.
3. You can eliminate all the badging and go with just the rear deck reveal moldings. (5 pieces that trim out the rear 1/4s and the edge of the deck.
4. Lose all the bright moldings on the rear. period. Just weld up the holes that are left from the long bar badge. If your rear deck needs replacing, there's lots of them out there. You can also get them new as afftermarket parts from great Olds aftermarket suppliers.

I've seen the piece you're talking about on evilbay a couple of times, but most often, they're not in great condition. If you can restore yours, you'd be far ahead of the game.

Maybe someone on or reading these forums has what you're looking for. Don't forget to check out the Parts for Sale section of this website.
Hope this helps.
