Window Tint

I'm going to get my windows tinted on Friday and I need some opinions to help my decide how dark to get them tinted. My car is bright red and I would like to go dark to try and save my interior a little bit, but I don't know if it would look alright. Heres the thread showing some pictures of my car

Hey Gert3116. Nice ride you got there. In my opinion, 50% tint would look best. You have some real nice upholstery there and it would be a shame to hide it. Aside from checking with your local laws on tinting, I think 50% looks nice. Here is a pic of your car with the windows tinted. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice, but I can't get that link to open with what my car would look like with tint.

Depends on how frequently you want to be pulled over and ticketed. Just ask my kid about that...

But, no, I NEVER said "I told you so..."

I had a 93 Buick LeSabre with limo tint all the way around. It definitely kept it a few degrees cooler. You could also scope out hotties when you were stopped at a light and not have to worry about their boyfriends giving you the evil eye.

It depends on tint laws in your state.

In PA the d/s and p/s windows can't have darker than 30% tint, but the back windows can have anything you want. In NJ the back windows are the same as in PA, but no tint is allowed on the d/s and p/s windows AT ALL!!

The nice thing about that is that a cop can't pull you over for that if your car is reg in another state

Billings is in MT, am I right?

Tint laws for MT are 35% for front windows, 20% for back and side back windows and you can only do a visor to the AS1 line

Very useful link, thanks. One question, however. What is "AS1"?

The place I'm going to get them tinted at said the limit is 20% on everything but the windshield. He said you can go up to 30% from the top of the windshield to about 6 in. down. I'm not going to get anything on the windshield, it's just not my thing.

It's the line on the windshield that the tint can't go below, I know my Delta doesn't have one, but the Alero does.

Look in a newer car, on the driver's side, about 6 inches or so from the top

I went with the 20%. I'll post pictures in the next day or two when I get a chance. Thanks for all the input.

My '70 has it, on the passenger side. I don't know how far back it was required on autos, but it's been a long time.
