Hey, if anyone can help, it would be much appreciated. We're putting out 324 engine back together, after getting it machined. We had most of it together and found a alien head set screw with a hole, in the box. A guy that works on engines told us it had to go behind the timing chain cover, that it squirted oil onto the timing chain and gears. After taking the cover off, we found that there is 2 things already there, that look just like this, but are a little bigger. Does anyone know if there is anyplace on the 324 engine that this could go? Or did it just get thrown in the box, when we sent the stuff out to get cleaned?
Thanks, Sandy |

Check out the back of the block where there is a freeze out plug in back of the camshaft. My 394 had 2 plugs with the allen head on either side of the freeze out plug. Or check out your manual, in which i have to assume you are using for this rebuild
