Happy Memorial Day!

Hope everyones having a good safe weekend.
What's everyone doing with their Olds?

I spent my sat/sun putting in a new distributor, coil and MSD 6AL...and
pretty-ing things up a bit. Don't think it turned out too bad!

I put some more of the front end together.
Ugh.. I just spent 3 hours compressing the new front springs.
I advise not using the outside mounted spring compressors. they are some spooky little machines. The ones I had weren't long enough so I had to do 1/2, then chain it down, then do the other half, install, and unbolt the chain.

I put about 200 miles on my 66 Jetstar 88. Went camping at the coast!

compressing springs are scary in general!
I've done it on 2 cars and it wasn't less scary the 2nd time around.

What coast is that? I haven't camped in years...
and camping from your favorite car on a gorgeous weekend
sound like heaven.
That's the one thing about my car now...it's not as fun as it
used to be. It would be great just to have a cruiser sometimes.

Pete, we were camping north of Tillamook, Oregon. Did a little crabbing (Dungeness), not much luck. My buddy's daughter caught the only one large enough to keep. The Jetstar is a project, kinda'. It needs a little more bodywork, paint and some interior work but it looks sort of OK. But it was a lot of fun over the weekend! The trunk and back seat had plenty of room for gear.
