Jump on it. If anything the car can be parted out and you can turn a profit. I see it as a no loose situation.

For $500 it must be pretty rough. I would pass on it since you already have an Olds.

Sounds to me like he messed up the engine swap and just wants to dump the car. really depends on if you think the car is well worth the 400 . It would be a good project though but it may need work or it could be a great parts car.I would try to go look at it in person if possible.

It doesn't sound to bad. The transmission will work ok as long as you don't roast the tires every time you take off. You can always find a better transmission swap it later.

Low rust is great. Nice interior is plus.
The tranny will be fine - the stock 307 is no monster, especially a Y.
Since the 307 is not hooked up all the way, perhaps find a 350 and run with it!
