Welcome Jim and good luck crossing over to the Olds world.
We don't have a lot of choices for manuals but here are some suggestions: Factory Service Manual is a must have, for your year and model . A Chiltons not gonna cut it, but its better than nothing. Mondello has a tech manual here: http://www.mondellotwister.com/CatTechAcc.htm Bob Gerometta has this one: http://www.wildaboutcarsandcarstuff....ication/Detail I won't get into specific details, but this is a start for any olds library.

Welcome Jim. I was checking out your site, nice work.
Is there anything you don't do there? no 403 Olds Trans Ams? I have the Sullivan Oldsmobile 442 and W-Machines Restoration Guide and it has the spotter tips and code info. I don't think they have a unique VIN other than it should have an M for Lansing built? You can go to the Olds FAQ's which can be found in the Olds Junction on the top of the page and then to the W machines section for information. But even better is the new Wiki using the FAQ's info that may be more correct and up to date, has lots of number and spotting info. Allan http://www.oldsmobilewiki.com/index....Machines#1971: |
