i have a 394 in a twodoor coupe and want to convert it to a chevy or other motor for daily cruising i don't want to put the miles on the 394 and right now rebuilding the 394 is tooo $$.

Is it possible to put a cheyv or better yet a later gen Olds such as a 455?

Any feeback will be greatly appreciated

What A Sin....get A Chevy...don't Wreck The Olds!

That's Why There Are Sooo Many Chevy/ford/plymouth/ Dodge People........the Pontiac, Olds, Buick & Caddy Croud Are Willing To Spend A Few $$ And Have A Better Ride!

Well, yes its possible, an olds 455 will fit under your hood, but I would guess that the engine mounts would not line up...then again you'd have the same problem with swapping in a chev. for cheap $$ option OTHER than chevrolet you can probably find an inexpensive olds 307 or 350 since its just for cruising and not HP

60 olds

It might to late but i just put a olds 350 in my 61 the 455 will use the same motor mounts as a 350 it will sit a littel higher. The problem is the tranny if you go with an th 350 you have to cut the tranny hump out and move it back. or get a adapter kit.

Talking

my 2 cents........the 394's bullet proof.......find the money/or lay the car up til you have the money......

if GOD had wanted a 350 chevy or other blk in it............he'd have showed up in lansing ......and installed it himself.........
