67' Delta 88 Conv
Hi, new member here. I just bought a 1967 Delta 88 Convertible and was wondering if anyone might have production numbers?

BTW, I've heard that this is the same year, make & model that Teddy Kennedy drove off the Chappaquidic (sp?) Bridge? True?
Also, it was 1st owned by the mayor of a small town north of Seattle who only drove it in parades & to shows. Unfortunately, the prior owner left it out in the elements for the last few years, so it needs a new interior. I sent an application in to "Overhaulin" and will let the board know if we are picked. |

Oldsfan, I think you mis-read by one line, or else my reference is wrong. There were 2,477 2-dr Holiday hardtops built and 14,471 2-dr convertables built.

I am also in search of production numbers for my '73 Delta 88 convertible. Where can I find ANY info on this car? I haven't found hardly any info on this era of car. It seems like the early 70's Delta's are a bastard car or something. If I had a Cutlass it would be no problem. I am also interested in finding engine specs (bore, stroke, etc.). I'm a gearhead and like to know what I'm driving inside and out. So far this site seems to be a wealth of knowledge.

I think I agree with you. At first, it seemed plausible to me since they were listed as HOLIDAY coupes. But I think your reasoning is correct, there has always been less convertables built and sold than hardtops or sedans. Good research work by the way.

Delta 88 Convertible Info
New to site also. I just got my 1st Olds too. (67 Delta 88 Convert).

More 425ci info?
Paul, you mentioned the 'rare' parts below. The Delta 88 I just bought is a 425ci, dual exhaust, w/both pipes going to rear from right side of car. I assume its what you are referring to. The car is in Seattle right now or I would verify them.
I don't have the stock intake, carb, or cleaner (Edelbrock equipped). "As far as horsepower, the 375hp Starfire engine was an option in all '67 98s, Deltas and Delmonts. This engine came with dual exhaust (with that rare driver's side manifold and equally rare half moon shaped column shifter rod crossing the exhaust pipe over to the tranmission). Nice looking car Dave, I am glad to see more interest and participation in the B bodies, both 88's and the 98's as well as all the derivatives. It is actually sort of surprising to see this surge and a welcome development.

Thanks for the support. I have very deep roots concerning autos. My Dad and his best friend (who passed away 56 years ago) put together the largest 'private' collection of cars in the world. I can honestly say its in my DNA.

Hello, From the book "Setting the Pace," 1967 Delta conv. #2447, Base price was $3646. About the 73 Delta conv. AKA Royale, #7181 made, Base price $5213.

I have one of the shifter half moon linkage levers. It was on a 1969 Olds "Hearse" that I parted out. The car was NOT dual exhausted but did have the dual exhaust lever on it. One of these days I will dig it out an take a picture of it. I have made a couple for my 98's. Later, Ken

i got a 1967 delmont and im trying to find production numbers on it it is a 4 door hardtop with the 425 and yes this is the type that ted drove off the the bridge
