Hi

My name is Tami and I have my 1988 Olds Delta 88 that I just purchased less than one month ago. The car only has just under 76,000 original miles on it (was at 75,119 when I bought it, can you tell I like driving it?). It checked out clean as a whistle on Carfax and I know its accurate because the VIN is still stickered on the hood, all fenders and all doors. No mechanical issues, just a sign of someone not knowing the proper way to do its preventive maintenence. Opened it up the other day and got 0-65 in 4.5 seconds....very good. There is just a slight bit of damage to the rear, not from a collision but more from scraping on the rear fender. The crease can be pulled out. The bumper filler on the rear has dry-rotted so I am in the process of getting that replaced. Also the emblems are all faded and the original wheel covers were replaced with that of what came on the Delta 98. Other than that, car is clean inside and out. I am always open to suggestions because this being a girl, I finally got enough confidence to actually go through with purchasing a project car and I think this one will be beautiful when I finish. What do you think?

Looks like a pretty clean car. Welcome to our site.

BTW, there was never a "Delta 98." It was the "88," "Delta 88," and "98." There was also a "78" back in the 40s. I don't think there was ever a "68." I know there was a "66."

Same car, different engine. "68" and "78" shared the 8, and the "66" used the 6 cylinder version.
