53 Olds with Dynaflow trannie

I'm a newbie here and have a question. I have a bet riding on this. In my youth I had a '53 Super 88. Memory tells me it had a Dynaflow trannie. My friends scoff and say Olds never used Dynaflows. Please can one of you experts tell me I'm not crazy and Olds did use some Dynaflows due to a fire at the original supplier. Thanks.

Yes, there was a big fire at the Hydra-Matic plant in '53. Manual transmission installations were greater in '53 than other years. And Dynaflows were used in place of Hydra-Matics. I think Cadillacs had to use Dynaflow also. '54 introduction was only early in '54, I suspect to allow time to get Hydra-Matics back in production.
