Need 1955 "88" help
Hi guys, I am needing some info on my 1955 Olds 88.. Today what sounds like the water pump started making some noise. I believe the bearing are gone in it. It looks like it simply unbolts around the perimeter (bolted to the timing cover) after removing the fan. Is it that simple?
Also, I need a source for a replacement pump. Thirdly (is that a word?), the fuel pump has two lines coming off of the top of it. These appear to be vaccuum. Is this correct? Thanks! Warren.. Last edited by 1arunem; February 8th, 2009 at 06:22 PM.. |

Yes, it is a 324, sorry I should have stated that. I assume both lines on top of the fuel pump are vacuum? They go to a tee and then to the wiper motor..
Never seen it set up that way, but hey if it works.. ![]() BTW, I put 1955 by mistake.. it is a 1956.. |

If NAPA does not have it, try Fusicks. They are nothing but Olds stuff and are good guys as most Oldsmobile people are. NAPA will probably have it and I would try them first.
