Talking 68 Toronado drivetrain

Hey just joined up with you guys. I was woundering if any one had any thoughts on mounting up the Toronado drivetrain in a bug. A buddy of mine is building a "rat rod" out of a super bug.
Thanks .

This has been done in VWs, Porsche 911s, and a host of other cars. Do a Google search. The coolest one I saw was a 66 Toro drivetrain in a Porsche 912 (the four cylinder version of the 911, sold in the 1960s). Since the big block Olds now sat where the luggage shelf used to be behind the seats, the owner bought a bunch of old suitcases, bolted them together, cut away the underside, and used this as the engine cover. Very cool. Weight distribution was improved to the point that he was able to remove about 100 lbs of ballast that the factory installed in the front bumper.

I saw a VW Beetle on the Kansas City, MO Craigslist recently that had a SBO mounted in the front. I think it was essentially a VW Beetle shell bolted to a Chevy S10 body. It looked cool.
