original 350 or keep 455 in it

hey OLDS nation . need opinions. i have a 68 conv cutlass with a 70 olds 98 455 in it that runs well. i also have the oringinal numbers matching 350 that came with the conv but needs rebuilding. should i keep the 455 in it or rebuild 350 and install. wouldn't the conv be worth more with 350 in it. thanks

I would say personal preference, I like the big blocks so that's what I would put in it. If you have room though I'd stash the matching number engine in the corner of the garage. Some day if you or someone else ever wanted to put it back to matching numbers you'd be able to do that. I put power disc brakes and power steering on my 1970 442 as I want to use it as a daily driver, but I've kept the correct non-power parts with that thought in mind.

2blue442 gave you good advice. To me the question right now is "what do you enjoy the most?" As a Cutlass it my actually be worth more with a 455 in it. If you really want the 350 in it, you can probably sell the 455 for enough to rebuild the 350. Keeping the numbers matching 350 is a good idea. Enjoy your car is the important thing.

I'll third the suggestion. Keep the BBO in the car and store the original SBO for future reinstallation if market conditions warrant.
