350 olds rocket

I have a few questions about the 350 beast.

I was wondering what the stock HP was on it. I have read 315 but am not sure. Also I take it that the 350 olds engine is much wider, ie; intake than the chev 350.

I have an edelbrock 1405 and performer intake. I will be installing headers and exhaust. Any guesstimate on how much more I can look at?

Thanks guys,

A

A guess

It depends what year and heads you have. Could be anywhere from 150-300 I would guess. Most likely toward the lower end of that range after all these years I would also guess.

I can't for sure say how much hp you will add with those mods, but if your exhaust plan has an X pipe in it, I think there will be a noticeable difference in the performance with these 2 mods.

yah i would say around 200 to 300 hp, yah i would say xpipe would be a good choice, i got he headman xpipe with a pair of super 40's flowmaster mufflers on my 72 olds with a rebuilt 350. And also put a holley street advenger 670, and maybe upgrade it with msd wires and coil.

I drop a '68 350 Rocket in my 85 Delta 88. It came out of a Delmont 88.

Along with the th 400 tranny, I added a Preformer 7111 Mani, Edelbrock 1806 carb, 180* thermo, Double roller timing chain, etc etc etc, and the car already had a Be Cool raditor, Flowmaster Super 40's with an X pipe exhaust.

The car tips the scales between 4050 and 4070 and runs 15.8 in the 1/4 mile, which puts the numbers at 268 HP at the crank according to the HP= weight, ET calulator.

Stock the motor had 255 HP and 355 ft/lbs

Hi, why go with the X-PIPE? Just curious? What does it do to make the car perform better?
