1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass SGXII

Hello
My name is Scott Turner and I bought this 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass SGXII a year ago. I havn't had a chance to work on it yet, but I'm getting really itchy. I was wondering if anyone could give me any more info on it. Was there many made? By reading some post from a year ago I can see it was a special model and the one that I have did come from Georgia. How was it designated SGXII? Did the dealer come up with it? Was the engine the same as a regular Cutlass? Where's a good place for replacement parts? A 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme brougham was the last car that my DAd ever purchased and it was sure beautiful. It was a light green with a white landau top. I was with him when he drove it off the lot. When I was 16 I took my drivers test in it. I always wanted to own one of my own and lined up the SGXII early last April. My Dad was excited to see it,but was killed by a drunk driver the week I was supposed to pick it up. He did get to see it on the computer though. I buying another 1977 this weekend. They have a nice place in my memories. By the way I live in Geneva,Ohio where R.E Olds was born. There is a marker there and it is presently a Napa auto parts store.

Welcome Scott. I'm in Amherst, and there are a lot of Ohio members here!

I'll look to see what I can find on the SGXII, but I'll bet it was one of the regional promotions that Olds did in the '70s and '80. The added badges to models and promoted them as a special models in different regions of the country.

SGXII is one I hadn't heard of, but here's a link on some of the known Y76 packages. It's in there, but Ellijay GA is a little teeny town north of Atlanta. I'd think it was more an Atlanta Sales Zone promotion.
