ST 69 = style/model year = 1969

33667: 3 = GM division = Oldsmobile; 36 = model series = Cutlass V8; 87 = body style = holiday coupe

LAN = assembly plant = Lansing MI

202403 BDY = Fisher body number (no relation to your VIN)

TR 930 = interior color and front seat type = black with bucket seats

69 69 PNT = lower and upper body colors = platinum for both

1AD: Interesting time built code. It doesn't make sense. I'm only speculating, but it might possibly be 10D, 11D, or 12D, which would indicate a last week of October, last week of November, or last week of December, all 1968, time built code.

Your VIN should read something like 344879Mnnnnnn where the "n" series would be a six digit number.

It will be interesting to see what others think of this trim tag date code.

"1AD"? Possibly the oldest Oldsmobile ever found.

Seriously, there's no way to tell if this is a 442 or not from the trim tag. As documented in the 1968 and 69 Fisher Body Manuals, many 442s came from the factory with Cutlass (336...) trim tags. Only your VIN knows for sure.

Yeah, I'm at a loss on that one. I've seen two character date codes that didn't use the leading zero, but not ones with two letters. Note that Jan 1969 had five weeks, and while I've seen date codes with an "E", I wonder if the "AD" was intended to mean the fifth week of Jan?

The other plausible explanation is that someone came in to work with one heck of a New Year's Eve hangover...

...or they hit "A" instead of "1" or "2" when they punched out the tag.
