65 Cutlass Convertible top is slooooow
The convertible top on my 65 is slow. It also need a little manual help to start its spread over the passenger compartment. It does not appear to be leaking fluid. I was told that the fluid might be low. Any suggestions? Any good articles on convertible top maintenance?

It could be low on fluid. Is the pump quiet with no cavitating noises? First thing to check anyway before you can figure anything else out. Be careful of overfiilling the pump. Those things draw a lot of juice and the wiring connections have to be good too. The car should be running when you put the top up or down or it will be slow, all windows down so it won't bind, especially going up. The correct filling procedure is in the Fisher Body manual, I saw it on team chebelle too. They have some threads in the convertible forum about similar problems too.

See if this post might help you out...
http://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/...not-go-up.html I had attached the bleeding procedure for the '72; not sure how similar it is to '65...
