Snow shovels are next to the door and the snowblower's fueled up and sitting at the foot of the porch stairs...

It'll take a couple of hours' work when the snow stops falling.

I hope you guys don't over-do it. I hate heavy snowfalls myself here in our snow belt. Stay safe and warm guys .
Cheers

Been away from Plymouth Ma. for ten years. I miss those nor'easter. Blizzard of 78 tops them all. Homes on both sides of us went into the drink. Son lives on the water and he is packing up. Its going to be the flooding and wind along the New England coast thats going to be the headlines. Send photos and good luck.

We gassed up the vehicles, snow blower, generator, charging all the flashlights, filled gas cans and got extra wood for the fireplace.

Gotta be prepared never know if and how long we might lose power.

Stay safe all of you in the northeast. I don't miss the beating we took from late Nov-March last year. Snowblower has had little work so far this year.

Bad for business at work though!

I'm pissed already, I just don't like snow.
I had a whole week of medical tests scheduled and now they have to be rescheduled. At least I got the generator plug installed in the garage if needed. I hope it's not.
20-30 inches expected now and gusts up to 65mph. Cripes, that's almost a hurricane.
I'll have pics for sure, sigh.

That sounds nasty! Just make sure and be safe and careful and don't push yourself too hard. Supposed to be about 68-75 degrees the next 3 days here. We have had a very mild winter and I hope it stays that way!

Most of the snow I saved before Christmas, melted over the Holiday. Now, when the wind blows, the dirt lifts off the fields and makes everything black...at least with the snow, things were a lot cleaner. If you have any extra snow that you can't handle, please send it up here...I am standing by with a firm grip on my shovel.

Just listened to the mayor of NYC say that 'New York is blessed with the finest work farce'.

Yep ... he actually said farce.

Dean,

You'll get hit pretty good, but us poor bastards down on the shoreline are gonna get creamed! Went to get a generator, all gone. I have well water & septic. Gonna really suck if we lose power.

Guess we'll have to use the grill for breakfast, lunch & dinner. Not neccessarilly a bad thing. My son & I are OK with peeing & crapping in the woods. The Queen & Princess will be miserable.

Can't bitch about it. We chose to live here.

Don't even want to think about power going off. If so we will be................ oh yeah screwed.

Thinking about you guys tonight. Can't say I'm disappointed we're not getting it in Illinois. Just a nice slick coating of ice tonight. We're on a well and septic too. I know how it is to go without

My wife was kind enough to pick up a few bottles of Belgian ale for me on her way home yesterday.
Enjoying a Delirium Noël right now, and have a Het Anker Lucifer waiting for me tomorrow when I'm done snow blowing.
They pack a punch.

Actually, most of Maine is "Screwed" along with Vermont.
It's only those of us right by the coast who are... Well, you know.

Judging by the NOAA map, it looks like we're about ten minutes away from the light snow starting...

I'm right under the arrowhead pointing at RI. I can smell the salt air from here.
Already dragged the snow blower out. Maybe I'll start early and try and nip it in the bud a little.

Last time I tried that in a big storm, I cleared the whole driveway, went to bed, got up the next morning, and it looked like I had never done anything - the drifting snow completely filled in everything I had cleared, and the falling snow capped it off.

Bastids.

Yeah, considering the high winds this won't be pretty.
Maybe I'll have another bourbon and beer then.

Now you're talking. Picked up a 12 pack of Yuengling and a fresh bottle of Gentleman Jack on my way home. Might as well. Not like I'll be working tomorrow. Gotta stay warm during the excavation.

Needed to get an inspection sticker for the 66 today. Dropped the top and went.
75* with a West wind at about 5 mph. Feel for you guys...
Of course, I will pay for it in August when it's 108* and humidity at about 90%.

I plowed an hour or so ago.

Plan to go out first thing in the am or every 6 inches , that's what you have to do when you plow with an Oldsmobile.

About a foot on the ground so far here. They say it will snow all day, but the map looks more like another 4- hours.

The air is full of snow - it doesn't even look like it's falling - more like a cloud.

I'm not messing with it 'till it slows down substantially.

George, you still with power?

I'm not far from the edge of the storm, drive 10 minutes west and they have 4". Drive 30 min east and they have 24". My office is in the Yes! F'd region on the map. Wouldn't be surprised if we had 2-3 days of closure.
